Dress Code & Golf Etiquette

All golf courses enforce a strict dress code usually consisting of shirts with collars (Rugby and football shirts are not permitted), tailored shorts or trousers with no denims. Appropriate dress must be worn at all times on the golf course and in the clubhouse.

Some of the golf courses will require handicap certificates before accepting visitors. Isleofwightgolfingbreaks.com will endeavour to advise you upon these clubs at the time of booking. Whilst a certificate of playing ability is not essential on all courses, knowledge of etiquette and the rules of golf are expected and each venue reserves the right to refuse access if it is judged that individuals do not display the required knowledge or appropriate dress. Isleofwightgolfingbreaks.com cannot be held responsible in these circumstances.

Confirmation of Booking

Enquiries and correspondence are considered provisional until the hotel(s) and golf course(s) have confirmed the booking and we have received a deposit from the client. The itinerary will then be confirmed in writing to the lead name of the party. The letter will outline the itinerary, confirmed cost and also request a deposit of £40 per head, to be paid within 4 weeks of the date shown on the letter.

On receipt of deposit the booking is now secure and only in the event of exceptional circumstances will this change.

The subsequent balance must be paid, not later than four weeks prior to arrival, or upon confirmation of booking, if the booking is within four weeks of commencement. If the balance is not paid by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and retain your deposit.

Playing Conditions

The condition may vary from time to time due to essential works or adverse weather conditions. Trolley and buggy bans occur frequently when a course is wet and are determined by those in charge of the golf course. If you are unable to play golf during your holiday due to course closure we will endeavour to obtain a refund or green fee vouchers for the golf element of the break.

We cannot be held responsible should inclement weather prevail, or for the condition of the course, during your break.

Winter Golf

Throughout the year there will be periods of poor weather, especially during the low season (1st November – 31st March). During the low season the golf courses reduce their green fees to take poor weather conditions and the possibility of temporary tees and greens into consideration.

Golf played on temporary greens and tees is non-refundable and is reflected in the reduced green fee and is accepted as part of winter golf.

If you are unable to play golf on your golf break due to course closure we will endeavour to obtain a refund or green fee vouchers for the golf element of the package.

Each venue sets its own policy for course closure. Isleofwightgolfingbreaks.com cannot be held responsible should inclement weather prevail.
